This is Pending. Undecided. Unsettled. Awaiting judgment.

Pending Studio works within that condition. Design is not approached as a resolved answer but as a form held open. Through exhibition, publishing, and pedagogy, the work examines how meaning is fixed and how cultural narratives are stabilized. Graphic design operates here as a critical and speculative medium for investigating authorship, value, and cultural memory.

Books are central to the practice. They function as both material and site—annotated, interrupted, and reframed to reveal how knowledge is structured, preserved, and transmitted.

Pending Studio is the art and design practice of Dameon Waggoner, a Los Angeles–based artist, designer, and educator. He holds a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from the University of New Mexico and an MFA in Graphic Design from the California Institute of the Arts.

He works as a creative director and independent educator focused on post-institutional design practice.
